What an exciting week!!!!

This week has been pretty great. I believe it is official that Jackson is sleeping through the night. Every night he has done at least 6 or more hours. Wed night he only did 6 but we had some big storms and there was terrible lightning and thunder. He went 6 hours and then woke up hysterical. When we went into his room the lightning even looked scary to us! So considering his situation, he did amazing that night! Last night was the best all week, just about 8 hours!
I am SO proud of him. He is becoming such a big boy. These 3 1/2 months (he is 14 weeks today!) Have just flown by!

He rolls over, grabs toys, chats up a storm, tries to put his binky back in his mouth on his own, loves his own reflection, is a tummy time champ! He loves to play with people and smile and flirt. He is even working on sitting up on his own. A few times I have gotten him to balance for a second or two! lol

I am in awe of him every single day. I often think, "how did I get so lucky??" Watching him learn and grow is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced (except for childbirth itself lol)

He already has likes and dislikes! He really loves to listen to his Veggie Tales songs. If he is crabby and we put them on, he stops fussing and listens to his tunes. I may be getting a little sick of the same 4 songs over and over, but it really does cheer him up! He loves tv....which is ok for now lol If he is watching it and you get in front of him or turn him around he will yell at you! Adorable at 3 1/2 months, it wont be at 3 though! We will have to work on that if he is still like that when he is older. We will have to have outside or tv off play time!

I document nearly every single moment of his life. I am always in his face with a camera, either my real one or my cell phone camera! I have thousands of photos of him already....I cannot get enough of his face on my cameras. Soon, when I have more time for scrapping, I will appreciate this even more.

This week he has even been open to spreading his feedings out longer than 2 hours! He has been able to go longer than that while sleeping for a while but not while awake. If he was awake and it was 2 hours exactly, he would fuss. This week there have been some 2 1/2 hour breaks and even 3 1/2 hours! All while awake!!! That is awesome progress for me, his food source! This week has honestly been huge in his life, so I felt I had to write about it.

1. Sleeping through the night
2. grabbing toys on his own for the first time
3. spreading out feedings
4. not screaming during tummy time
5.Real tears (not so great lol but it has happened)

I also had a big moment this week. I submitted my story to American Baby magazine. I worked out through the day I went into labor....I was at my prenatal swim class, came home, ate, and contractions began! They were looking for stories from women who remained active during pregnancy. So I thought, what the heck, I will write about my experiences and send it in. I heard back later that day that they chose me to be in an issue! I am SO excited! I cannot wait to see my story in print. I hope to inspire other women out there. It can be done and done safely and beneficially!!! I have 7lbs left to lose and he is only 3 months! So this was really just overly exciting news for me. I really did not think that I would be picked, so I was totally surprised when I received an email back!

So that is my update for the little man and myself.

I would definitely say a 6 hour stretch is sleeping through the night. It's amazing how much better you feel getting that much sleep as well!!! I love the baby stage when they start laughing and rolling over and entertaining themselves. Their little personalities really start to blossom. Both of my boys were tummy babies. They literally wouldn't sleep on their backs! I would get maybe 10-15 minute stretches out of them and that's it before they were waking up screaming again. I finally put them on their tummies to sleep when they were both about 6 weeks old...and from that point on they slept through the night. My older son literally had to sleep in his carseat/carrier thing for the first 6 weeks. He would absolutely would not sleep at all on his back. He did not mind his back if he was awake..and would take little catnaps but that was about it. He liked his carrier..a LOT. My younger son wasn't as bad, but was not happy sleeping on his back. When he was on the floor he could care less if he was on his tummy or his back..it was so funny, he was so completely laid back when it came to that. He is now a bit of a high maintenance child which totally cracks me up.
