Hey there,
Just wanted to chat about how us 3 gals made up a dozen invitations in a couple of hours from start to finish.
It was our regular Wed Night Scrappers of the Rectangle Tables get together and only 3 of us could make it. There was Samantha , Charlotte and I. Our #4 of the 7 of us is having a Big birthday soon~ she's gonna be turning 30 and her sister wants to do something special for her . We diecided on an all gals dinner and party. I then suggested that we make the invitations ourselves and let's do it tonight while Miranda isn't here.
And so we did- we found a card layout we liked in the Ideas Book from Close To My Heart ( scrapbooking supply company) and went for it- we all snooped for supplies in our stashes- chose an olive green and chocolate brown for the colors theme , a brand new acrylix birthday cake clear stamp and then some group collaboration and Voila we got 'em done! They turned out really cute! We chose the why , when, where, etc. info to be done in white ink on the brown cardstock- very nice, very different...and we got to use this new ink! We even added details on the card like another new stamp I bought that looks like stitching- so adorable- adds alot to the card!
Can you tell we had fun?
So then I felt inspired to try making other cards the next day- a Thank You and a Thinking of you/get well cards for my cousins.
gotta say I wasn't sure I was even into card making at first but it's a lot of fun , gets the creative juices flowing, has very quick gratification and is something more personal to send to the person you have in mind than one from the dollar store!
Ok so I am sold- I am now a scrapbooker and a card maker- it's fun and a great way to use up leftovers...just like everyone said- I know I know...you told me so!
